Kid's Pool Party Planning Tips and Ideas

• Decorations:  Tropical colors and bright sunshine spell fun!  Hot colors of lime green, teal, orange, hot pink and yellow are a great theme and don't be afraid to mix these colors with a tropical flower theme, a nautical or fish theme. Decorate with beach balls, fish nets, plastic fish, plastic flower leis and seashells.
• Games:  Squirt gun challenge, water balloon toss, ring toss, water tag and bottles of bubbles.
• Food:  Easy outdoor foods that will keep kids satisfied and give the cooks time in the pool are idea.  You can always fire up the grill for hamburgers and hot dogs or serve cold foods like sandwiches, fish shaped jello or cookies (use fish shaped cookie cutters) and make sure there is plenty of water to keep kids hydrated.
• Party Favors:  Goody bags with a pool theme can include items such as a miniature suntan lotion bottle, a water bottle and fun sunglasses will be a hit with kids. A favor that kids can use at the party is also cool.  We have inexpensive goggles kids will love. Pool noodles, mini squirt guns can also keep kids occupied during the party and are fun to take home.  (Check the dollar store.)
